367th Fighter Group P-38 pilots hitch a ride to their aircraft via a Jeep-powered sled train, circa late October 1944 at Juvincourt, France.

Assigned to the 9th Air Force’s brutal tactical war, the 367th, nicknamed ‘The Dynamite Gang,’ was awarded two Distinguished Unit Citations for operations over France and Germany.  And although it wasn’t their primary role, the group was credited with 89 enemy aircraft destroyed in aerial combat during their year of operations.
